What is Tech Intelligence?
Learn how to find companies by the technology they use, and what each detection tells you.
Tech Intelligence shows the technology a company runs, such as its CRM, cloud provider, email platform and website tools, so you can find accounts by their tech stack and the people who look after it.
Use it to find companies running a competitor's product, companies using a tool that works well alongside yours, or accounts on a platform your team supports.
Tech Intelligence replaced technographics on 15 October 2026.

Prerequisites
- You are on a Teams Pro or Enterprise plan with at least 5 users, and have purchased the Tech Intelligence add-on. The add-on applies to every user on your account.
Where to find Tech Intelligence
- Click Tech Intelligence in the top menu bar to open the Tech Intelligence page.
- On the Search page, the filter panel has a Tech Intelligence section above Core filters. This is where you'll find the Technologies filter. Learn how to use the Technologies filter.
Using the Tech Intelligence page
- Search with AI: describe the companies you want to find in plain language, for example "SaaS companies in Australia using HubSpot", and submit it. Firmable opens the Search page with the matching filters applied.
- Segments: ready-to-run searches. Click a segment to open its results with the filters already applied.
- Use the tabs above the segments to switch between All, Favourites, Private, Shared and Recommended. Click the star on a segment to add it to your favourites.
- When you save a search that includes a technology, it appears in Segments on this page as well.
AI search works with named technologies, like HubSpot or AWS. It can't search for a type of technology (such as "any CRM") or for every product from one vendor yet.
Using Tech Intelligence in your AI tool
If you've connected Firmable to Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, you can ask for companies by technology in plain language, for example "Find companies in Victoria using Salesforce with more than 50 employees". Searching is free. Credits are only used when you view full profiles, reveal contact details or push records, the same as any other search. Learn more about Firmable via MCP.
Where the data comes from
Tech Intelligence uses four public sources:
- Company websites: tools built into public websites, such as analytics, live chat, ecommerce and content management.
- DNS records: services linked to a company's domain, such as email, hosting and content delivery.
- Public service scans: internet-facing systems that identify themselves when contacted, such as web servers, VPN gateways and self-hosted apps.
- Job ads: tools a company names when it's hiring, such as its CRM, ERP or cloud platform.
We scan the public internet every week and check each detection against our other sources. Everything we collect is publicly available. We never log in to a company's systems or go inside its network.
Websites, DNS records and public service scans are direct observations of the technology. A job ad is weaker evidence on its own, because a tool mentioned in a role may be a skill the company wants or something it plans to adopt.

Key definitions
- Detection: evidence that a company uses a technology. It doesn't show how many licences they have, what they spend or how widely it's used.
- Confidence: how strong our evidence is that the company uses the technology.
- High, Med or Low, based on which sources saw the technology, how often, and how recently.
- High is the safest choice for outreach that names a specific product. Check Low results before you rely on them.
- Last observed: the most recent date we saw evidence of the technology at that company. An older date doesn't mean the company has stopped using it, only that we haven't seen new evidence since.
Frequently asked questions
How is Tech Intelligence different from technographics?
Technographics mostly saw what was on a company's website. Tech Intelligence adds DNS records and public service scans, so it also finds technology that never shows on a website, such as email, hosting, cloud infrastructure and remote access tools.
Why can't I find a technology?
Either we haven't built detection for it yet, or its use can't be seen from outside the company. Some tools leave no public trace at all. If there's a technology you need, send us a request with its name and website.
Why is a company I know uses a technology missing from my results?
Not finding a technology doesn't mean the company doesn't use it. Their use may leave no public evidence, or we may not be able to link the evidence to that company with confidence. We hold a detection back when the evidence is weak. If you know of a gap, send us the company and how you know, and we'll look into it.
Can I search by category or vendor?
Not yet. Category and vendor filters are coming. For now, select each product you want in the Technologies filter and match them with OR.
Does Tech Intelligence use credits?
Searching by technology is free. Downloading or pushing records from your results uses credits as usual. Learn more about when credits are consumed.
Can Tech Intelligence tell me when a company's contract renews?
No. We can't see seats, contracts, spend or renewal dates, and we don't estimate them.
Is Tech Intelligence included in a free trial?
No, Tech Intelligence isn't part of a standard free trial. If you'd like to try it, click Enquire today in the Tech Intelligence section of the filter panel and we'll talk you through the options.
How do I add Tech Intelligence to my account?
On the Search page, click Enquire today in the Tech Intelligence section of the filter panel, or contact your account manager. Without the add-on, the Tech Intelligence section is locked and the Tech Intelligence page doesn't appear in the top menu bar.
