How to use the Technologies filter
Learn how to find companies by the technology they use with Tech Intelligence.
What is the Technologies filter?
The Technologies filter finds companies that use a specific technology, such as Shopify, HubSpot, Salesforce or AWS. It's part of Tech Intelligence and works alongside all your other filters, so you can search for, say, companies in Queensland with 50 or more employees that use Xero.
Prerequisites
- You are on a Teams Pro or Enterprise plan and have purchased the Tech Intelligence add-on.
Using the Technologies filter
- Navigate to the Search page and open the filter panel.
- In the Tech Intelligence section, above Core filters, click Technologies.
- Type the name of a technology into the search field, for example 'Shopify', and select it from the list. Repeat to add more.
- If you select two or more technologies, choose how to combine them:
- Use OR to find companies that use any of the selected technologies. This is the default.
- Use AND to find companies that use all of them.
- Add any other filters you need, such as location, industry or employee count.
To remove a technology, click the x on it in the Tech Intelligence section.
Narrowing by confidence and last observed
The Tech Intelligence section header shows the current confidence and last observed settings. Click it to change them. These settings apply to every technology you've selected, and only take effect once you've selected at least one technology.
- Confidence: how strong our evidence is that the company uses the technology.
- Any includes every detection.
- Low, Med and High each show that level only. For example, Med doesn't include high-confidence detections, so leave it on Any unless you want one level.
- Last observed: how recently we saw the technology at the company, counted back from when you run the search.
- Any includes every detection, however old.
- 7d, 30d, 90d and 6m show companies where we saw it in the last 7 days, 30 days, 90 days or 6 months.
Both settings are checked against the technology you selected. If you search for Shopify with High and 30d, a company only appears when Shopify itself was seen with high confidence in the last 30 days.
Saving your search
Click Save segment, give your search a name and click Save. Searches that include a technology also appear in Segments on the Tech Intelligence page. Learn how to save a search.
Frequently asked questions
Can I search by a type of technology, like any CRM, or by vendor?
Not yet. Category and vendor filters are coming. For now, select each product you want and combine them with OR.
Can I use AI search instead?
Yes. Type a request like "accounts in Sydney using AWS" into AI search on the Search page or the Tech Intelligence page. AI search works with named technologies. If you need an exact list, check the technologies it selected, or pick them in the Technologies filter yourself, as the two can return slightly different results at the moment.
Why isn't the technology I'm looking for in the list?
We can't detect every technology. Some leave no public trace, and some we haven't built detection for yet. Send us a request with the technology's name and website.
Does searching by technology use credits?
No. Credits are only used when you download or push records, the same as any other search.
What happened to the Technographics filter?
Technographics was retired on 15 October 2026 and replaced by Tech Intelligence. Saved searches that used the Technographics filter still run, but without that filter, so they return more results. Rebuild them with the Technologies filter.
